About Mrs. Gambino

Greetings! My name is Kate Gambino; I am the 6th grade math teacher at St. Vincent. I graduated in 1996 from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, then went on to earn my master’s degree in Teaching from the University of St. Thomas in 2003. I earned my Autism Spectrum Disorder certificate from the University of St. Thomas through a Murray Cohort. I taught at Epiphany Catholic School for 19 years before joining the SVDP faculty in 2021.

My passions include my family: husband John, son Matteo (18) and daughters Rosa (16) and Gianna (14) (all attending Blaine High School), Chicago (John is from Chicago- I love to cheer for the Cubs but draw the line at the Bears), Italy and Ireland (my favorite places- John's Italian, I'm Irish), Mickey Mouse (to keep me young at heart), and the great outdoors (to keep me healthy in mind, body, and soul).

My Philosophy

· Through consistently high expectations students are challenged to understand the material and use the concepts to think critically. · Students become independent thinkers.

· Students are held accountable for their learning and are required to show evidence of their understanding.

· Students are given several opportunities to show mastery.

· Students develop their logical reasoning to become problem-solvers.
